Wednesday is the 12th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. And on the eve of remembrance of that infamous day, there are some indications another attack is in the works: a purported plan to hack into high-level websites in Israel and the USA.
One of the groups said to be organizing the cyber attack is known as “AnonGhost.” It’s made up of so-called “hactivists” who use their computer skills to side step online security measures and gain access to secure websites and systems. Once inside, they can wreak havoc on a business or government agency’s cyber operations.
The Weekly Telegram, through an anonymous source recently was contacted by two men claiming to be major players at AnonGhost. Now it’s very important to note: hackers aren’t the kind of people who give you a home phone number and a street address so you can send them a Christmas card. It’s a cloak and dagger world of secrecy, which means even though I have good reason to believe these two men are legitimate in their claims, it’s impossible to confirm their identities, or their affiliation with AnonGhost. But they had some very interesting things to say nonetheless, and at very least seemed knowledgeable about the world of “hactivism” and the looming September eleventh cyber attack.
