I’ve been walking this road of practical, lived spirituality for more than two decades now. Over the years, I’ve watched countless fellow travelers step onto the path with real momentum. They start strong, dial in their practices, and for a while everything clicks. You can almost feel the current carrying them forward. Their confidence grows, their clarity sharpens, and it looks like the life they’ve been reaching for is finally within arm’s reach.
And yet, this is the part that still stops me in my tracks. So many of them slow down just before the finish line. They get close enough to taste it, close enough to feel the ground of their “promised land” beneath their feet, but something shifts. The forward motion fades, doubt creeps in, and instead of stepping fully into what they’ve been building toward, they stall. The question isn’t why they started, or even why they grew so fast. The real question is what happens in that final stretch, when everything is actually ready to arrive.
