The recent passing of Holocaust survivor Alter Weiner, who gave hundreds of speeches to Portland-area schools about his teenage years in concentration camps, prompts us to play a segment from one of his appearances, in which he described some acts of kindness that sustained him, and discusses his conviction that blind hatred of others in the true source of evil in the world.
