We are all upset about the fires across the state, and all have a deep-down fear this is a "new normal." Meg Krawchuck is an Oregon State University professor who studies fire ecology and fire patterns using data from satellites, maps, management and field collections to understand drivers of where fires occur, the fingerprints they leave behind and the ecological outcomes of burning. What a fascinating field of study and perfect for a discussion about our summer's destructive Oregon fires. The takeaway for me is: What is happening is positive for future generations. Listen in and find out why.
