Description

This week, the discussion will be with the Founder and CEO of Switching the Field, Zac Ludwig. Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, there always seems to be something missing or something more you could be doing in your organization? Are there things you wish you could do but simply don't have the means or resources? Zac and his staff at Switching The Field help others make great things happen: increasing player and coach retention, improving the level of players, implementing new programming, improving coaching effectiveness, growing the organization, or increasing their bottom line. They "fill the gaps" or "voids" in youth organizations who cannot afford full-time education directors or directors of coaching, including taking the time to observe or help develop the other coaches in the club, providing educational services and mentoring to them. They also provide services and advice to help clubs minimize parent/coach or parent/club conflicts.

In this episode, you’ll hear…
•How to make a change in mindset starting with the “triangle of communication”
•The importance of coaches understanding their environment, & forming a plan based on environmental factors
•How to empower yourself and “walk the walk”
•What’s in Zac’s “secret formula” – a principle, not a potion [HINT: Playing time is never the issue (or solution)]
•How to address “problems” as we discuss advocacy vs. policy
