How many of you know about stickball? How many of you have played stick ball? Stickball is pretty much like baseball. It is a street game and also includes bases. It is played in large cities like New York city and Philadelphia. You play it with a broom handle and rubber ball. I've seen players toss the ball into the air and hit it on the way down or after one or more bounces. There are still people that play stickball.
In the past, according to history, legendary all star Willie Mays played stickball in Harlem when he was a New York Giant in the 1950s.
Have you heard about The Jersey Stickball Titans? They are a stickball team originally known as the Jersey City Saints stickball team. The team was originally formed by Pete Carrion Sr. Now his son Pete Carrion Jr. That’s pretty much all I know about the team. There’s a clip of them playing stickball on YouTube. Look for: Bronx Legacy VS. New Jersey Titans: Rondo Hits a Game Winning Sac Fly Stickball. They make stickball look like so much fun.
