This might sound like a conflicting statment but when we try to describe an action as an object we get confused. We use a pencil to write, and even though we know what writing is describing writing is not as easy as describig a pencil. Evil has the same characteristics, it is an action and describing evil isn't always easy. That's why we need to understand it to be able to defeat it.
