In this video I’ll explain why self awareness is so hard to uncover and give you three questions you need to answer to increase self awareness.
Do you really know yourself?
Were encouraged by our friends and family and even celebrities to “just be ourselves” people tend to say it in this effortless way like…its so easy just do it, but it’s a lot harder for most of us to actually do than it seems. we’re controlled by our subconscious, by our survival mechanisms, the constant reminders of societies values(money), and the fact that we adapt our true selves to different situations
In western society self awareness is defined as the conscious knowledge of ones own character, feelings, motives and desires. And the key word here that I want to focus on is conscious…right….its the conscious knowledge,but, If you’ve read any books on brain science you’ll quickly realize that as much as 90-95%
of our brains are beyond our conscious control.
So how can we be encouraged to increase self awareness if we don’t know the vast mechanisms behind the scenes that control the show. You know these mechanisms im talking about…There’s this tug…this inner voice that often conflicts with many decisions we want to make.We try to do something new or challenging outside our comfort zone… something we might be passionate about
and then the feelings of self doubt and negativity flood in.
So im gonna provide you a little homework….3 questions at the end of the video to break through this confusion and start you on the path to self awareness
