When Jesus calls us friend he is not referring to the sometimes superficial friendships we encounter in this day and age. When Jesus calls us friends he doesn't hold anything back. Jesus confides in us. The truth that is in him is given to us through Holy Spirit. See Jesus never really left us. He left this Earth physically but lives on inside us through the Spirit. He says you are never alone my friend. He says come, let's spend time together and I will share great truths with you-in fact I will guide you into all truth for your life.
