I talked with Deidre Teagarden about NVMC and the upcoming talk on Sept 30th, with author Barbara Kawakami, on her book the Picture Bride. Alos on display part 2 of The 100th Infantry Battalion's teh "Purple Heart Battalion”, which helped change the minds of military and political leaders who had initially banned the enlistment of Japanese Americans, thus paving the way for the formation of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.
