Martin Reid, my dad and one of the most influential people in my life, was born on Sept 21, 1951, in his parents’ bed in Middlesbrough, England.
Growing up he lived in a brick terraced house in sight of the Middlesbrough football club (soccer for those in north America). At this time, Britain was still recovering from the war effort, in fact there were still some bombed sites around town.
He grew up focused on 2 things – school and rugby and both served him well through life.
His focus on school (and his natural smarts) got him into Oxford University where he earned a degree in physics
Life takes many twists and turns – my dad’s was no different:
-marrying my wonderful mum,
-having 4 excellent children,
-a move across an ocean and starting life again,
-and a super successful career in the nuclear industry are defining aspects of my dad’s life (through his daughter’s eyes anyway).
Join us for an hour where we cover all sorts – good reads (and perspectives) on leadership, sports, school, and the 3 questions he asked himself to achieve success and fulfillment.
