Born in the Chicago suburbs, Mark W. Stoub, like his protagonist, Angus McPherson, has been a Texas transplant for over twenty years. He received his B.A. from Maryville College in Tennessee, an M.Div. from Louisville Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Seminary in Chicago. A Presbyterian minister for over forty years, he is now retired and lives in Kyle, Texas on the edge of the idyllic Texas Hill Country with his wife Jane and their dog, Goldie, and cat, Calvin.
