Joan Foor was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Mt. St. Mary's College in Los Angeles. Her Master's was awarded as a Nurse Practitioner from UCLA. She served in the U.S. Army in the Viet Nam era and retired as a Lt. Col after 29yrs.(a combination of active and U.S. Army Nurse Corps Reserve status.) She has over 40 years of Nursing experience in many specialties. After Retiring from Kaiser Permanente she taught Nursing at University of California, Bakersfield as Adjunct Professor. She has co-authored two children's books and independently published a memoir. Her Indie 4th book is a psychological thriller titled: "A Marked Woman" which is based on a true story during the Great Depression and World War II. Her mother was betrayed by her father and committed to a state institution after 23 yrs. of marriage.
