I am really surprised by the massive twist in these chapters, which is when Sonea goes out into the wasteland and finds a bunch of small magical stones planted in different areas to keep the land from ever being fertile again. While a part of me wants Sonea to be right about who planted them because that's a total baller move, I'm also a little bit hoping that it's something even more surprising than that.
