We cannot allow just any thought to find lodging in our minds, especially if it does not agree with the Word of God. Disciplined thinking helps to discern right speech, right motives and intentions, and to stay grounded in Christ when the popular thought of this world is opposed to what we know to be true. A disciplined thought life will lead to freedom and security in God's love. It will lead to a confidence to live a godly life to the glory of God.
