Judges chapter 7, verses 19 and 20, "Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands. The three companies blew trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, and they shouted, 'A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!'" You know-Gideon saw himself as a nobody. Though he was called of God, he couldn't see originally past his circumstances. The smashing of the clay jar represents the shattering of self-image, former dreams, all the excuses we have. When they picked up the torch, this was a picture of the Spirit of God, once again being exercised through human vessels to declare the name and the glory of God in the earth once again. Oh, God-it's time to pray!
