Notes:

So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.
2 Samuel 12:20

Seven Emotional Stages of Grief:
1. Shock or disbelief
2. Denial
3. Bargaining
4. Guilt
5. Anger
6. Depression
7. Acceptance/hope

David's Template of Dealing with Loss of Loved One: (2 Samuel 12:20; 24)
1. "Rise from the ground" // Stand in what you know, don't lay in what you feel.
2. "Wash yourself" // Don't let the devil stain you with disappointment when you’re down.
3. "Anoint yourself" // Choose the oil of joy.
4. "Change your clothes" // Don’t curse tomorrow because of the pain of today.
5. "Go to the house of the Lord" // Go to church.
6. "Worship" // You will either surrender to God or slander God. (Job 1:20-22)
7. "Eat" // God's work will give you strength.
8. "Give Comfort" // 2 Corinthians 1:4

Just because you’re down, it doesn’t mean you’re done!

Psalm 23:1-3 Good stuff (Lord-Shepherd / He)
Psalm 23:4 Bad stuff (Lord-Shepherd / You)
Psalm 23:5-6 Better stuff (Lord-Host / You)

When you don’t get an explanation from God, you will have a new experience of God.
