If you're human, at some point in your life, you are going to deal with shame. Whether that's over past mistakes or over present consequences, shame doesn't merely tell us that we made a mistake, but rather it tells us that we are a mistake. However, I hope you know that shame couldn't be further from the truth and as Christians, we always need to remember that God doesn't write us off whenever we fall.
Isaiah 43:25 reminds us:
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more." - Isaiah 43:25
God never does anything accidentally, and he never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything he creates. Every plant and every animal was planned by God, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind. God's motive for creating you was his love. The Bible says:
"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." - Ephesians 1:4a
You are not a mistake or an accident. Don't ever let shame have the last word. You matter. You are loved. You were created for a purpose and no matter what you do or how many times you fail, that never changes.
