Sylvia True is the author fo Where Madness Lies. She has seen a family history of mental health issues including many types of depression, & self-harm. Her book starts in Nazi Germany where the T4 Euthenasia Program is in place to murder physically & mentally damaged people seeking to have a flawless race. Sadly, it only takes a culture that considers others "less than" & dehumanizes them for such behaviors to arise.
Sylvia's parents, refugees from Nazi Germany, were brilliant in their fields. Her mother was a Swiss champion figure skater, her father a Theoretical Nuclear Physicist, They immigrated from England to the United States when she was five & gave her a much-varied perspective I'm sure. She is currently a high school science teacher to travels to the Amazon on her breaks to conduct research in the rainforests.
