Hey there, folks! I'm so sorry for missing last week, but Jaime and I are bringing you coverage of two episodes this week to make up for it! Since it was a 2-part story it just seemed to make sense, and Jaime was really eager to get these over with because they are her least favorite of the entire series.
And listen, I'm not going to lie to you. I was relieved to hear her say that because frankly I didn't love these. Not that they were as bad as I think Jaime feared I would find them, but more because there were distracting, niggling questions that bothered me, and things that seemed so strange (not just talking about fake pig aliens, either) that I couldn't talk them through with her on the show, either.
But I did like that Rose's people are in on the secret now, because that makes everything more interesting, and this has also set up earth as a place where people know aliens exist, which changes a whole lot about what is possible there in terms of story. I will be very interested to see where that part of the show winds up going, if anywhere.
