Join us tomorrow on The Coach Lynn Show to discuss “The Thing About Barbie.” The Barbie doll initially replaced the baby doll, the only doll that little girls had to play with. At that time, a little girl's playtime was that she was a “mommy.” When Barbie was introduced, and throughout the ages, the idea of Barbie stands for many different things for women. Her friend, Jennifer Hixon, tells why she hosted a big Barbie party for a large group of women who donned pink Barbie outfits (and were joined by one Ken)! Lindsay Jay shares her perception of Barbie, feminism, and femininity.
