The school committee in Winchester, MA has decided to replace the high school's mascot from that of the Sachems. The decision comes after statewide protests against Native American mascots has been a major discussion over the last couple months. Local organizers have even proposed 3 bills regarding Native American agendas to rename or remove what is interpreted by some as offensive depictions of Native Americans.
