This week's Offbeat takes a look at a Cherokee Legend of the Moon Eyed People who were underground dwellers. Though little evidence exists, the story infiltrated American culture in the 17th and 18th centuries. A monument exists in a state park which is believed to have been built by the pale skinned nocturnal people in 400-500 CE.
