The final AFC division to preview is the AFC West. On this episode, Erik and Matt take a look at the Raiders and the Chargers. It's part 7 of their Around The NFL series, and this seems to be the most intriguing AFC division.
They begin in Vegas and take a deep look at what the Raiders plan is. Brady is officially a minority owner; they have a new head coach, a new OC, a new QB, and drafted Jeanty in the first round. While they did invest some free agent money on the defensive side of the ball, what's the realistic outlook for year 1 under Carroll? Erik and Matt don't feel too hot about the offense as a whole. How will Chip influence what the offense is? Are Bowers and Jeanty the only pieces to worry about for opposing teams?
It's then time to head over to LA and preview the Chargers. A team with a solid OL, a solid defense, and coming off of a playoff appearance, what are the expectations? There's been a lot of debate about QB rankings and where Herbert lies. Matt and Erik take a look at some interesting stats and if there could be a fundamental issue that Herbert needs to fix to improve his effectiveness.
