Converting the converted. Making believers out of those who already believe. Preaching to the choir. I always thought that people who said those things were really saying "shut up" in a polite way.
From time to time, we really do need to preach to the choir, because it's how our support system stays connected.
Self absorption vs. audience engagement is sometimes the difference between success and failure for us musicians, artists, actors, etc. Something to bear in mind as we pursue and perfect our crafts.
