Right out the gate, Abbesi Akhamie showcased her talents as a filmmaker. Her short film and thesis project “Still Water Runs Deep”, was selected by the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017. Her second short, The Couple Next Door (2020), proves that her first film was no fluke.
