Description

As a young girl during the 1970s, Celia Sorhaindo migrated to England with her family. In 2005, she returned to live on her birth island of Dominica. Being back in the cultural bosom of the Caribbean, she rediscovered her artistic side and eased into writing poetry. Sorhaindo’s debut poetry collection entitled Guabancex, is inspired by the aftermath of 2017’s hurricane Maria.
