Thirteen men face charges after Michigan State Police and the FBI uncover a plot to kidnap and murder Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The plot is tied to right wing militias including the Michigan Liberty Militia and the Wolverine Warriors.
Michigan Republican legislators met with right wing protesters outside the Capitol building just hours after the kidnapping plot was exposed.
Governor Whitmer blamed Donald Trump for not denouncing right wing violence. Trump responded by slamming Whitmer for not saying “thank you” to the FBI and falsely accused her of calling him “a white supremacist.”
Trump said that Attorney General William Barr needs to round up Obama administration officials, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton during a phone interview on Fox Business.
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled last week that Governor Whitmer overstepped her authority in issuing executive orders during the coronavirus pandemic.
