It was not a good night to be a Philly sports fan. Sixers lost to the Pacers, Flyers got shut out in Detroit, and my alma mater Drexel lost to Towson. Ugh!
The NFL coaching carousel is slowing down to a near stop. Jim Harbaugh signed with the LA Chargers, Raheem Morris returns to Atlanta, where he was an interim coach a few years ago, and Carolina hired Dave Canales.
An NFL player is gambling, but it’s a little bit of a different gambling story. The Patriots’ Kayshon Boutte was arrested in Baton Rouge this week for gambling while under age at LSU. More amazing was that he made 8,900 wagers over a 13 month period!
The Philly Phade was next. Joe went 1-4 last weekend, and he’s trying to pick two winners for the conference championship games on Sunday.
Rumors are starting to swirl that the Phillies and the Athletics could potentially play at least one game in Philly wearing 1930’s throwback uniforms. It’s unconfirmed, but it’s something Joe has wanted since the beginning of interleague play in MLB.
The Yankees have “new” road jerseys. They took the white trim off the lettering and numbering on the gray road uniforms.
