The Philadelphia Eagles have added a new weapon to their offensive arsenal, Golden Tate. As the team enters their bye week at 4-4, we wanted to get into what this new weapon will provide the team at the halfway point of the season. Joining us on the show is Michael Kist, writer and contributor at BleedingGreenNation.com and cohost of the Kist & Solak Show on BGN Radio. We got into how this team has handled the first part of the season, and what we can expect from the second half.
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1. On a scale of 1-10 where does "Philly Sports" rank at this moment? (4:50)
2. Sixers Talk: the Fultz Effect, the team exercises options for Simmons, Fultz and Saric. (11:00)
3. & 4. Flyers and NHL Talk: sports betting has come to the NHL, and Dave Hakstol's future. (25:10)
5. The Phillies odds to sign Harper AND Machado. (34:45)
Then we got into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze Philly sports figures to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (38:45)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is a great and in-depth interview with Michael Kist from Bleeding Green Nation about this up and down Eagles team. First, we got into grading the Golden Tate trade, and then dove how his style of play will benefit the offensive scheme and wide receiver corps. From there we talked about the randomness of the running back rotation this season. Moving over to the defense, we dissected the defense and specifically how Avante Maddox has played solid football as a safety as of late. What kind of mark will Carson Wentz leave on this season when it's all said and done? All of this and much more this week! (45:45)
