The Phillies now have new talent to groom as the MLB Draft has wrapped up. Plus, there are prospects in the Phillies farm system we need to keep our eyes on. This week, Mike Ventola (@VentingDaily), play-by-play broadcaster for the Reading Fightin' Phils joined us to look at some minor league prospects as well as new talent the Phillies acquired in the draft.
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1. Where the Sixers go from here now that Bryan Colangelo has been relieved of his duties. (6:40)
2. We give our unpopular sports takes. (23:35)
3. Our thoughts on the incident involving the Eagles and The White House. (31:20)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is a great interview with play-by-play broadcaster for the Reading Fightin' Phils, Mike Ventola. First, we dove into the newest Phillies draft picks, specifically batter Alec Bohm and pitcher Colton Eastman. From there, we got into an in-depth discussion about the minor league farm system. The closer unit in Double-A has been impressive thus far this season, and Mike details why they've seen success. Enyel De Los Santos has been lighting up the mound in Triple-A, and we discuss his future with the Phillies organization. What have we been seeing from prospects Darick Hall and Cord Sandberg? All of these topics and much more this week on the Table! (45:50)
