In 2010, Masha Klapanova came to study Hospitality / Event Management in the USA. She got a taste of real estate back in Russia, where she still has an apartment and a summer house for lease.
Prior discovering her passion for self-storage investing, Masha did residential real estate sales, flipped houses, managed Airbnb properties and pursued wholesaling. However, she knew that commercial real estate investing has so much more potential for scalability and growth.
Her career path had shifted as soon as she discovered self-storage investing. The more she learned about it, the more it attracted her. Masha strongly believes that self-storage has many advantages over other asset classes.
Investors love it due to high returns and lower risks. Lenders love it because of the default rates to be the lowest and the recession resiliency of this asset class. Owners love it due to ancillary income opportunities, flexible lease terms and sticky tenants. Masha loves it because of incredible opportunities in value-adds and remote management.
