Have you ever had or known anyone who has had a life-threatening allergic reaction to a food, medication, plant, or insect? To anyone out there who is struggling with this or who knows someone else who is, I wrote this one for you 💖! Getting diagnosed with celiac disease many years ago taught me that if I eat gluten (AKA, wheat, barley, rye, or oats), my body reacts like I've just been poisoned. Before my diagnosis, I never fully understood why some folks would knowingly consume foods or substances that they were allergic to. Now that I have lived with a food allergy for a few years, I am starting to understand the temptations that snowball year after year from continually resisting mouthwatering culinary masterpieces! If you are ever struggling to avoid eating foods that you are allergic to or know that you shouldn't eat, please play this song and remember that you are not alone in your fight, that you are stronger than your temptations, and that you can use this difficult situation as an opportunity to explore food options that you might not have considered before. P.S. I wrote this song about peanut allergies rather than gluten allergies because I didn't want to write about the delicious, gluten-filled delicacies that I can't eat anymore!!!
