Kopser, a 20-year combat veteran, is the Democratic candidate in Congressional District 21 hoping to replace incumbent Lamar Smith, who is not seeking re-election. Kopser is currently president of the advisory and analytics firm Grayline, and is a member of the Defense Council of the Truman National Security Project. He has also served as the director of Texas Lyceum, is a member of the board of directors of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, and is the chairman and co-founder of Bunker Labs Austin. Kopser served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, earning the Combat Action Badge, Army Ranger Tab and Bronze Star.
