Description

Why It Matters:
Jacob’s family was shaped by deep division between his wives, Leah and Rachel. Though God had a purpose for the whole family, Jacob’s love for Rachel and neglect of Leah created a cycle of competition, insecurity, and pain. Their children inherited that tension—brothers divided not just by personality, but by the favoritism and rivalry rooted in their mothers' relationship.Blended families are not new, and Scripture doesn’t hide their complexity. But God calls us to something higher: unity, compassion, and fairness. When we show favoritism—like Jacob did—it doesn't just affect one child; it wounds the whole family. Hearts break, relationships fracture, and peace is lost.

Bottom Line: Blended families don't need perfection—they need patience.
