There is a blessing and curse with black privilege. The curse of black privilege is when it is weaponized to attack the black community and not used to help our people to get above the scratch line.
A lot of times there have been prominent black people who have been given acceptance and privilege by the white community. The acceptance and accessibility has afforded these black people a life and a privilege.
However their loyalties at times goes with those who have given them an opportunity for success and a new life. It comes at the cost of being used as a weapon against the black community they come from.
We have seen this with so many celebrities and public figures. How many times have we’ve seen prominent black athletes attack other black athletes for using platforms to protest against injustice and social inequalities, such as police violence against black and brown communities.
