In the story of the prodigal son, an estranged son returns to his father after seemingly squandering his inheritance. But instead of being angry with him, the father welcomes him with open arms and announces a feast to celebrate his homecoming.
Similarly, in this world we believe we have run away from home and squandered our inheritance of Love, Joy and Peace. We unconsciously believe that God is out to punish us and that we are not welcome back to our true home.
However, this story from the bible shows that God loves us and will be overjoyed when we choose to return to him.
This is what the father said to his other son who felt jealous about the fathers joy 'You are ever with me, and all that I have is yours, but thy younger brother was lost and now he is found'.
