Moms for Christ

Welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast! This is Seritta. My daughter was playing, and called me over so that she could show me her drawing. I said, “sure!” Then in all silliness, I dropped on the floor and rolled to her! She thought it was so funny, that we spent the next few minutes rolling from one end of the room to the next, back and forth. I later recalled the sentiment I've heard from time to time that you become closer to your child when you get down to their level. It's easier to teach them that way, and it's easier to be more relatable. You can even build trust when you get down to a child's level.

"I'm reminded that this is what Jesus did! God came down to earth in human form so that we could have a relationship with Him!" I'm reminded that this is what Jesus did! God came down to earth in human form so that we could have a relationship with Him! In the Bible, John 15:15 says, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business; instead I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” Well God is the Almighty God who created the universe. He allowed for Himself to go through life as a human being and be relatable to us. In this passage, Jesus was talking to his disciples who He spent a lot of time with, tirelessly teaching them the ways of God - that all they do on this earth should stem from God's love in them. He developed a relationship with them as their teacher and friend, who showed them how to trust in God during turbulent times as they go on to do God's will. Jesus demonstrated His love for God through His obedience and through His friendship. He did not give up on His disciples, but continuously taught them and corrected them, and showed that it's possible to have a relationship right here on earth with Father God.

"He is always consistent and always willing to bear hardship, so that God can get the glory. He desires for us to be willing to do the same so that we can be called His friend!" I found that many times it's because of my different circumstances that I get challenged to go deeper and learn more about the Lord. My relationship with Him has to be humble enough where I can see God's point of view and embrace His will. I'm learning that as a follower of Jesus Christ, I have to be devoted in my heart to what is righteous. My life is on a continuous mission to be in agreement with His word, and to live it out in complete freedom. I can see now when times are challenging and our comforts get stripped away, we have Jesus, who has been only genuine in His relationship with us.
