Moms for Christ
Hello everyone. This is Seritta, and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. I've been trying to get my daughters to do maze puzzles - for example, a little boy is at the start of the maze, and his lost puppy at the end of the maze. So we have to try to bring them together by following the clear path. What's interesting about mazes is that unlike other games, there are no obstacles to solve and go through to reach the end goal. There are unmistakable walls and barriers, so you simply have to go in a different direction. My daughters, however, instead of staying within the barriers while searching to find a different way to the lost puppy - they draw through the walls and boundaries as if they weren't there at all. The thing is that they're too young to recognize and be sensitive to the little boundary lines across this maze of lines on the paper.
"We can leave a landmark for our children of seeing firsthand how to be dependent on the Lord, honoring and calling on Him as we seek to be united with our God." Proverbs 3 verse 5 to 6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” I think of my kids being too young to truly respect boundaries on paper, but I, as an adult with much more experience with puzzles - and just an overall better understanding of boundaries - recognize the line on the paper and know to stop and reevaluate. I think of Abraham in the Book of Genesis digging those wells and building altars to the Lord, thanking Him. He stopped after every few steps and exalted the Lord, making sure to follow Him. That well became a landmark centuries later, when Jesus met the woman from Samaria at that same well - and changed her life. I'm convinced that Jesus wants to do that with our generations. He wants us to take the time to thank Him by committing to our promises with Him, honoring the Lord throughout our living, allowing ourselves to be people He can inhabit. We can leave a landmark for our children of seeing firsthand how to be dependent on the Lord, honoring and calling on Him as we seek to be united with our God.
" The choice of submitting every decision to the Lord makes the path clear for my children and grandchildren to recognize that only Jesus can show us the way to Father God..." When King David asked the Lord how could he bring the ark of the covenant back to His house without people dying all around it, he found that he needed to pursue the Lord every step of the way. He needed to ask for direction - instead of assuming which was the right way to go. God’s boundaries require for me to seek Him at every step.
