Moms for Christ
Hello everyone! This is Seritta, and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. Recently, I saw a commercial for a reality show about a young woman. The name of this young woman's family is well known all over the world. What was interesting was that the young woman said she sometimes doesn't know who she is, even though her family is established, and herself and her line of work, she still felt unknown. It occurred to me that if someone who was known all over the world doesn't know who her own self is, is it really that strange that a child from an ordinary family can end up feeling lost or unknown also?
"It's the same for us when we believe and we know Jesus personally. We realize that we're not displaced, that we have a purpose, and it's not meant to be separate from God." After Jesus' resurrection from death, He visited His disciples and told them He would be going back to Father God. He told them in John 14 verse 18 to 19, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.” Because Jesus’ disciples knew Him personally, they would still be able to know and identify Him even when He couldn’t be physically seen by anyone else. It's the same for us when we believe and we know Jesus personally. We realize that we're not displaced, that we have a purpose, and it's not meant to be separate from God.
"When we connect to Jesus on a deeper level, it becomes apparent that the things no one else knows about us is known by God!" With my daughters, I know their personalities and can even anticipate certain actions from them - because I've bonded with them. So even when I'm not in the room, they wonder where I am, and it's not too long before they come calling and searching for me. As small children, they're confident in calling for me and reaching out to me. I recognize that the message for Jesus' followers is the same. Though He is not physically walking on earth in human form anymore, we're not meant to be distant from Him. When we connect to Jesus on a deeper level, it becomes apparent that the things no one else knows about us is known by God!
I would like to pray for us moms. Lord, thank You for reminding us of who we are in You. Our hope, joy, strength and ability to love only come from You. Please help us to receive in our hearts the truth that You are the giver of life. Help us to believe Your Word, Lord. Help us as parents to demonstrate our belief in Your Word. Help us to want to know You personally and seek out what You love, so that we can really know who You are. Please have Your Holy Spirit, Lord, live in us.
