A lot of people want to have more children, but fear tends to hold them back because they don’t know how it’s going to impact them or their current children, so we thought it would be good to talk about things we’ve noticed in the last few weeks. Adam talks about how he didn’t really think about the impact of having a 5th child until basically the child was here and everything started getting flipped on its head. It’s hard to tune in to the impact of having more kids until it’s actually about to happen, especially for the man, who isn’t carrying the baby for 9 months. We’ve learned we need to make sure we don’t forget the older kids and ensure that they still feel important individually.

“One thing that I need to make sure that I’m doing is really spending time on the level for each of them individually. And I think we’ve done reasonably OK at that, I know the older kids definitely recognize it a lot more when they don’t get their specific time for their needs and interests to be met. So that’s really important is, they love being a unit, they love being a team, but at a point they need to be seen individually.” 13:07
