In this episode we talk about the things that we want, but cannot currently afford and how those things may change over time. We talk about the house that we want and the different things that would either make it look nice, or make it more functional and make living a lot easier/convenient. Some of the things we want include getting chickens, a veggie garden, a poly tunnel, a treehouse area, and just an outside where the kids would want to spend their time. We discuss how as our kids have grown, our house has become less accommodating to them, so we’re now trying to focus on getting the children outside rather than inside where parts of the home aren’t ideal for little kids. We talk about how it’s best to just wait to get something you want when you have the money rather than buy it immediately because usually by the time you’ve saved the money for it, you no longer want or need that thing. We bring up the question of whether the cost of doing or getting a certain thing is worth the reward, such as renovations on our house, and for certain things it would not be worth the effort because we’d be happier not proceeding.

“If you have a ‘I want this now’ personality, I think that you get rewarded for saving money, and the reason why I think this is because any time I didn’t have the money when I wanted to buy something and I wanted it now, by the time I saved the money I didn’t need it.” 11:25
