What does being grateful entail?⁣

Grateful is a feeling and belief that there’s always something we can learn from even the most horrendous of situations.⁣

Personally, I know that to be true. That’s because the very hardest things in my life have come before my greatest growth, joy, and life lessons. ⁣

Here are some tools as we reflect on this year and look forward to the next.⁣

When the stinking thinking starts to creep in, pivot quickly to gratitude. It has a way of transforming our experiences, attitude, and self-perspective.⁣

When I can have compassion and gratitude towards the people that piss me off, I don’t go energetically bankrupt.⁣

Being in a state of gratitude can also shift your perception of reality.⁣

When held hand-in-hand with gratitude, moments of disappointment and defeat—the numbing out and shutting down—can be transformed into awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love. ⁣
