Prime Minister Justin Trudeau holds a news conference in Vancouver where he discusses his government’s new emissions reduction plan. The $9.1 billion plan was released earlier in the day by Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault and contains new measures to help Canada reach a 40 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, with a target of net-zero emissions by 2050. The prime minister is joined by Guilbeault as well as Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson.
Green Party parliamentary leader Elizabeth May speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill about the federal government's updated plan to meet Canada's emission reduction targets by 2030.
