Plains, Georgia/ Jimmy Carter National Historic site - One can no longer see Georgia Washington’s birthplace or William Henry Harrison’s log cabin Plains, GA is different – when Jimmy Carter ran for and was elected President crowds flocked to the sleepy SW GA hamlet and today many of sites in Plains have been preserved by the National Park Service.
