This talk was given in 2019 at BGMC as part of our series “A Jesus-Looking God.” It was not included in the original podcast archives, but we have added it now to complement the current WWMI in the Cross series. This message is especially relevant as we are currently exploring the nature of God as revealed in various atonement theories. The first talk is intended not only to challenge the view that God, as revealed by Jesus, is a “God of wrath,” but also to expose that idea as a pernicious lie and the very antithesis of God’s cruciform character.
