It has been said, "As the church goes, so goes the nation." Before the Revolutionary War, the pulpits thundered freedom and liberty in Christ. There was an intricate tie between our civil liberties and our religious freedoms, you could not have one without the other. As one historian noted, "“To the pulpit, the Puritan pulpit, we owe the moral force which won our independence.” We need this moral force again.
