As it was Charlie Parker's birthday, he would have been 89 on August 29 the special extended Feature beginning a bit after 10pm (The Jazz Show begins at 9pm PDT) will cover several live and studio sessions by Parker. Parker was born in Kansas City on August 29,1920 and his biography and life is very well known. He died at age 34 in New York on March 12,1955. Like a comet that streaked across the sky, Parker left a musical legacy in his short chaotic life that lasts to this day.
