On this episode James welcomes Jacob Hawkins of The History of Strength Sports (@historyofstrenghtsports) to the show!
The History of Strength Sports is a digital museum curated by Jacob. During the episode Jacob goes into great detail on his personal lifting and how he became a strength sports historian. He also discusses his research methods, his top three favorite pieces of history, what he thinks is the most impressive feat of strength ever done, some of the oddest strength facts he has discovered, what strength feats will most likely never be repeated, who the most influential historical figure in strength sports is, whether or not CrossFit should have a seat at the strength sport table, the history and evolution of barbells, and the biggest lesson he has learned since starting this project.
