Medical experts have expressed concerns that a stigma is developing that obese people are spreading Coronavirus, and that such patients could be discriminated against when normal health screening returns. More than 1m people are clinically obese in Ireland which makes them among the most vulnerable to complications from COVID. Also The HSE says Ireland's hospitals can start doing some non-urgent surgeries after they were stopped to prepare for the pandemic.
